Year 3
Semester 1 - Canary Wharf Global City Design
My finance and affordability strategy
Our project for this module involved redeveloping the billingsgate fish market in canary wharf. The first piece of work I produced for the project involved researching strategies around funding and the location of affordable housing to meet the borough's need for integrated social housing.

Design and access statement for the billingsgate site
Our team conducted a site visit to understand the site and surrounding context further. This helped to to develop our masterplan inline with this with the relavent stratergies.
For the next part of the design process, my team and I applied what we had learnt from our research in order to design the public realm and individually shape the three blocks which we had chosen. I also completed a viability assessment for the site in order to understand if what we had suggested was viable.

Semester 2 - Research Project (Have home zones in the UK been as successful as those in the Netherlands in helping to create more liveable streets?)
Research Project
In this piece of research, I investigate the use of shared streets as a way of creating more liveable streets in the UK and the success of home zones in the UK by comparing them to the system from which it was derived; woonerfs in the Netherlands. I achieve this by looking at related literature, cases studies and my own research carried out in both the UK and the Netherlands to compare the outcomes of the two systems.
